Then consider joining I AM 24/7 this summer as a resident intern.

Vision of Program:

The purpose of this program is to provide real life ministry experience while living in community with those you are serving and those you are serving with. This vision for this program is that participants would complete this internship with a deeper faith, greater knowledge of and experiences serving in an urban context, and with a more clear picture of calling and direction for a life of fruitful living.

Purpose and Plan: Our goal is to create an environment for growth in the areas of faith, character, leadership skills, professional development, and personal responsibility. Interns will live in a home together and participate in all aspects of the program collectively.

Stipend: Interns will receive a base stipend of $300 per week for the summer to help cover personal expenses with the expectation that they are helping lead youth activities throughout the week and are fully engaged in all other program requirements. Housing is also provided.

Dates: June 16 - August 16

Internship Overview:

We are looking for passionate, energetic, and creative leaders to join us this summer to interact with youth boys individually and in small groups. You'll help plan and execute creative, exciting, fun events that youth will enjoy. This internship is perfect for anyone who wants ministry experience, enjoys working with youth boys 6-18, likes sports, and desires to encourage youth to find their identity and purpose in the Gospel. The opportunity will culminate in a mission trip to Peru the second week of August, where interns will accompany staff and the youth leadership team.

Interns will gain experience in mentoring youth, providing administrative support, and logistics experience in running camps, as well as have opportunities to participate in fellowship and leadership development training.

This internship is based in the Grier Heights community situated in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Our vision is to build the next generation of Christian leaders by cultivating faith, nurturing intentional community, and providing opportunities to lead others. While a part of the I Am 24/7 summer internship program, interns will study, serve, work, and grow as they develop deep relationships and find belonging. We are all about doing life together, so that students can learn and grow in Christ as they are challenged and encouraged by the community around them. The life-long friendships that develop are crucial to a college-age student's walk with God.

Meet I Am 24/7:

The I AM 24/7 movement started in Grier Heights in 2009 with a soccer ball, a bag of candy, and a couple of soccer players from the Charlotte Eagles. They brought a simple message of transformation: "Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life." The coaches kept coming and the relationships started forming. That message was shared weekly through time together and evolved into these soccer "coaches" moving into the neighborhood. Today, there are 6 teams, both soccer and basketball, engaging and coaching youth year-round, providing not only instruction in sport, but tutoring, Bible study, travel experiences, and intentional Leadership Development nearly every week of the year. The staff still live in the community creating a family feel with deep relationships that are empowering for all involved. The prayer of the I AM 24/7 movement is to see individuals from every part of our city, every area of society, from our schools to the workplace, come to a greater understanding of God's love for them and their call to bring hope and change to our world.
